A Sneak Preview of the FSC Marketplace – A New Global B2B Product Finder

Have you ever struggled to find specific types of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper? Have you ever wished there was an effective online platform for marketing your FSC papers to a targeted audience? If so, I've got good news!
Over the coming weeks several FSC National Offices, including FSC-US and FSC Canada, will be formally launching a new business to business product finder platform - the FSC Marketplace - in partnership with the FSC International Center. The site is already active at http://marketplace.fsc.org/portal/ and is intended to become the single global database for catalyzing new business to business connections.
The site brings together existing product data for certificate holders and layers on the flexibility for them to add descriptions, images, and other content to make their listing unique and attractive to buyers. Users can search by product, supply chain position, keyword, geography, or other parameters and just need to register with the site to be able to view supplier details. Certificate holders need to register, activate their profiles, and update their information. Certificate holders can also upgrade to Premium profiles for a low annual fee, which allows display of more detailed information to users and prioritizes the company in search results.
FSC-US has hired a new Marketplace Manager, Eliza Roberts, at our Minneapolis headquarters to rapidly expand use of the site and assist both buyers and sellers in succeeding with the platform. Questions within Canada can be directed to Monika Patel in Toronto.

- Buyers of graphical papers can also use the PaperSpecs database, a subscription service, to search by FSC status. One great advantage of this system is that FSC is combined with the full range of search parameters that designers and buyers may be concerned with.
- FSC Canada and FSC-US also maintain a list of FSC-certified papers available across North America that includes information on paper categories, paper suppliers, paper weights, recycled content, and the specific FSC label each paper carries.
